Two Yemeni Ministers Dismissed Following Southern Transitional Council Leader’s Escape

Yemen’s Presidential Council, responding to recent political and security developments, has dismissed two cabinet members and decided to pursue legal action against several officials. These decisions were announced during an emergency meeting following the escape of Aidarus al-Zubaidi, head of the Southern Transitional Council of Yemen.
According to media reports, Abdul Salam Humaid, Minister of Transport, and Waad Bazib, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, have been removed from their positions. The Presidential Council has also recommended that the cases of these two officials be referred to the judicial authorities for further investigation.
In the same meeting, the Yemeni Presidential Council approved measures to identify, prosecute, and detain those responsible for distributing weapons and threatening internal peace, with their cases to be handed over to judicial bodies. This decision comes amid growing concerns over escalating instability in several regions of Yemen.
Furthermore, Aidarus al-Zubaidi’s membership in the Presidential Council has been revoked, and his case has been referred to the Attorney General. Previously, the Saba News Agency reported that Rashad al-Alimi, head of Yemen’s Presidential Council, had accused al-Zubaidi of major treason, referring the matter to judicial authorities.
